The White Sulphur Springs Dandelion Festival will run May 26 through May 28 in downtown White Sulphur Springs. The Dandelion Festival is an annual celebration that is sponsored by WSS Main Street and the City as a sign of appreciation and determination of the dandelion. The gutsy little flower fights its way through velvety lawns, dodges mowers and weed killers, and against all odds it reigns supreme as it blankets the city each spring.

Friday, May 26:
3 to 8 p.m. – Vendors, food, and local shopping
5 to 7 p.m. – Gillespie’s 100th Anniversary Celebration (377 W. Main Street)
6 to 8 p.m. – Art Show Opening with a Wine and Cheese Reception ($) in the White Sulphur Springs Library (344 Main Street W.). Music will be provided by Terrance Zimmerman.
Saturday, May 27:
7:30 a.m. – Dandelion Dream Chase 5K. Racers gather at Old Mill Park. Race begins at 8 a.m. and preregistration is encouraged.
8 a.m. – Children’s Fishing Derby at the National Fish Hatchery (601 Main Street). Sponsored by the National Fish Hatchery and the WSS Rotary.
10 a.m. – Vendors, food, and local shopping along Main Street.
10 a.m. – Kid’s activities ($) provided by WV Inflatables at Midland Trail Park (683 Main Street E.).
11 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Art Show Exhibit at the WSS Public Library (344 Main Street W.)
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Live Music on the Main Stage (697 Main Street E., behind Big Draft) with music by Ben Hersman and the Sons of the Mountains. Sponsored by 50 East Restaurant.
11 a.m. – Walk and Talk like a Chicken at Old Mill Park
