Live music will never become obsolete. There is something magical about meeting up with friends or even strangers for an evening of art in its purest form. Nothing could possibly replace the feeling of reverb rippling out across a crowd; the singalong chorus of throngs of fans; the feeling when you grab a piece of merch to support a new artist discovery. The adventure!

With the holidays full-steam ahead, the humming local music scene here is keeping the thrill of the live arena alive. Hill & Holler – a frequent haunt of Americana breakout star Charles Wesley Godwin, who released one of the year’s best albums with Seneca – has a sturdy lineup of performers this month. Not only is this spot an excellent music venue, but it’s also a fantastic spot for pizza and beer. Some personal favorites include the T-Rex, Jalapeno Popper, and Margherita. They have everything from small bites (wings, crab cakes, etc), to creative calzones, wood-fired sandwiches, and a large selection of craft beers.

If you’re looking for a Christmas excursion solo or with a group, trek downtown to one of Lewisburg’s coziest and most inviting venues and restaurants in America’s Coolest Small Town. Grab a beer and settle in for some true talent.

On Saturday, December 7th and Sunday the 8th, enjoy traditional Celtic music with Patrick O’Flaherty, from 5p-8pm. Patrick is one of few composers today writing original songs in Gaelic. His professional music career has spanned nearly three decades.

On Friday, December 13, The Space Heaters play from 9p-11p. Nathan Seldomridge, Dan Freeman, Chris Clemmons, and Billy Ayers are the Space Heaters. That pretty much explains it all. $5 cover.

On Friday, December 20, Dave Buhrman & Susan Sanders bring their favorite classic rock tunes to Hill & Holler’s stage from 6p-8:30p.
