In conjunction with The Hub’s move to Lee Street Complex (the site of the old Lewisburg School), High Rocks’ Celtic Knot 5K/10K is new and improved! On Saturday, March 23, this family-friendly event will be held in a new neighborhood, giving participants the option to run or walk the Lee Street-Crowfields-Lamplighter neighborhoods while jumpstarting their wellness goals for 2019.
High Rocks is also thrilled to announce that the Celtic Knot races are being offered at no cost to participants age 17 and under and to all West Virginia AmeriCorps members.
Registration and check-in will be from 8a-9:15am at The Hub, Building C, at the Lee Street Complex. The 5K and 10K start at 10am For adults 18 and older, pre-registration is $20 for the 5K and $25 for the 10k. Both prices will increase by $5 for registration the day of the event. Kids 10 and under are invited to compete in a 1K race at no cost.
Register online at highrocks.org/get-involved/events. Awards for top finishers will be given out at The Hub starting at 12 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to fastest overall and age-group finishers.
The race route begins at the entrance to the Lee Street Complex on GMS Drive, down to Lee Street, north to Silo Lane, up to Blackbird Way, through the Crowfields and Lamplighter neighborhoods, and on down the one-lane portion of Dwyer Lane, and back to the beginning point on GMS Drive. Runners and walkers should be off the course at 11:30 a.m.
