Happy New Year & welcome to my new monthly column. With the New Year upon us and all of those Resolutions we have made, I am going to expose you to an alternative method to help ensure success with your new goals. It’s called Hypnosis and it’s a low stress, affirmative, scientifically proven way to awaken your subconscious to work with you to help facilitate positive changes and get rid of negative behaviors and habits.

Hypnosis has been around for hundreds of years, and has now reached a new heightened status as it is now being taught in many prestigious universities and also in most medical schools. It is defined as a trance-like state of mind characterized by suggestibility, relaxation, focus, and a heightened imagination. Wow, what a wonderful mixed bag of features!

Hypnosis is typically induced through hypnotic inductions, commonly composed of a series of preliminary instructions and suggestions. A healthy and natural state, hypnosis is a type of guided, physical relaxation whereby your critical conscious mind is relaxed, allowing new healthy intentions and goals to be delivered to your open, receptive subconscious mind.

Amazingly, your SC mind controls nearly 80% of your behaviors. You can literally re-train those behaviors, allowing new, constructive feelings and emotions to take root; creating new successful thoughts, actions, and behaviors that set you on a path to renewed health, wellness, and empowerment!

All Hypnosis is self hypnosis, meaning that it’s the power of your own mind! Where the mind goes, the body follows. The greater the want, the greater the desire for change. You are always in control, you can leave the state of hypnosis at anytime you want to. It’s sometimes referred to as the “dream” state, because you can accomplish and perform anything you want to in this enlightened state of being, just like in your dreams. You are never unconscious, in a coma, or asleep. You can always hear my voice and follow my suggestions. You can even acknowledge & answer questions if asked.

The 2 questions I am asked most are “is it real” & “I’m scared that you are going to take control of my mind”. As stated above, it is a scientific proven method that works in conjunction with your mind and your body, incorporating Psychology & Biology! You are always in control, you can “awaken” out of hypnosis any time just like you can in a dream. You will never do anything in hypnosis that you wouldn’t do morally, or that goes against your core values.
