Based on customer requests and a desire to try new things, Bella the Corner Gourmet invites you to try their Top 10 Wines Under $10! Shop owner, Tamera Pence, tells us that these 10 wines were chosen around people’s desires to try new things. “Patrons are often hesitant to buy an unfamiliar bottle of wine when it’s $14-$15.” Tamera has personally tried all of these wines and says she picked these specific 10 bottles with the help of her wine distributors. Together, they scanned their lists of availability, checked price points, and of course, taste-tested all of them. Here is the list:
Red Wines include: Cielo Rosso Red Symphony, Dante Red Blend, La Fiera Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Venta Morales Tempranillo, Conde Villar Tinto, and Sierra Cruz Cabernet Sauvignon.
White Wines: Cielo Pinot Grigio, Pierre Henri Chardonnay, Fournier Urban Sauvignon Blanc, and Fournier Urban Torrontes.
Sparkling Wine: Opera Prima Pink Moscato
“Heard about this wine list through the grapevine and they are wonderful!” – Kara Upton, WSS.
According to the season and based on customer feedback, the top 10 wines will change. If it’s one thing Tamera knows, it’s that everyone has a particular taste and the market demand will drive her and the Bella staff in the right direction. “Just because I like it, doesn’t mean that you will,” says Tamera. If you want to know her 2 favorites, it’s the Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, a nice red table wine that pairs well with any Italian meal or heavy hors d’oeuvres; and the Torrentes, a light Spring/Summer white wine which satisfies the palette for any seafood meal. Tamera enjoys these wines so much that she recently paired them with the menu items during her February Bella Cooks Club. The cooks club is an educational food and wine event held about 4-6 times a year at the shop. For more information, visit bellathecornergourmet.com
To further engage patrons in wine knowledge, Tamera introduced “Shelf Talkers”. She tells us, “this is a method of sharing information on the shelves with the customer.” The talkers look like notecards and are placed in front of each wine and provide a brief overview of every wine so you can easily make your selection. You will save yourself time from Googling the wine reviews on your cellphone’s 3g network.
