A three foot pepper mill. A balcony. A pink dinner napkin. An unspeakable crime. What do these things have in common?
Find out by seeing Cahoots, a comedy of cover-up and conspiracy presented by the Pocahontas County Drama Workshop on Friday May 16 and Saturday May 17 at 8:00 pm at the Pocahontas County Opera House in Marlinton.
Cahoots is set in an upscale apartment in a Manhattan high rise. Two couples who are long-time friends have gathered for an evening meal. A crime is committed, a cover-up is schemed and farce runs rampant as the characters conspire and mis-conspire.
Veteran actor Scott Triplett plays the role of Al, whose leadership of a neighborhood crime watch organization leads to paranoia. Al’s wife Lois, a disgruntled fiction editor, is portrayed by Drama Workshop newcomer Diana Clarke. Andrew Lacasse debuts with the Workshop as Ken, a marginally successful architect with some suppressed anger issues. Lisa Burns, also in a first appearance with the theater group, portrays Ken’s wife Jan, a self absorbed commercial actress struggling to find work. Rounding out the list of new talent is Dan Schultz, appearing as Grant, a uniformed officer trying to make some sense of it all.
Parents should be aware that the play contains adult themes that may not be suitable for young children.
