During the month of March and well into April, the Irish Pub in downtown Lewisburg is filled with events and happenings that you’re sure to enjoy. From March 12-15th and again, April 9th-14th, Brendan Sheridan, who hails from Old Castle in the county of Meath, Ireland, is coming in to kick off St. Patrick’s Day celebrations early with his traditional Irish music. Whether you know it or not, you feel Brendan’s presence every time you’re in the pub. All the signs, the mirror behind the bar, and the Irish Pub logo are designed by Brendan. He sketched all of these designs on the back of a napkin for fellow musician and pub owner, Patrick O’Flaherty (poflaherty.com), just before it was open for business. During Brendan’s live performances, you can take a piece of his art home with you as he’ll be showcasing his paintings throughout the venue, with pieces ranging from $200-$350.
Also happening at the pub is the grand opening of the Irish Pub Bodega on March 15th at 11am. This store is the former dartroom (don’t worry, the dart room still exists, it’s just a bit smaller now) and has a separate entrance on E. Washington Street, beside the pub’s front door. Goods sold include Irish gifts and Irish and/or New Orleans’ foods such as candies, cheeses, and butters. Dry goods will include your typical convenience store products such as light bulbs, laundry detergent, batteries, flashlights, etc. 6 packs of mixed Irish beers will also be available for purchase. Beginning March 15th, Bodega hours are 11am-7pm everyday. Have a suggestion? Share it! The Irish Pub invites you to share your thoughts about what you think they should sell at their store. A suggestion book will be provided at the counter for you to write down your thoughts.
