The Greenbrier Valley's #1 Source for Food, Music, Shopping, Theatre, and Events!

FROM THE EDITOR

May in the Valley means festivals, good food, and great music as spring settles in at its finest.

This issue highlights some of the region’s vibrant music scene, including Group Therapy, part of last year’s Ivy Terrace series, who will take the stage at this year’s Strawberry Festival in Alderson. Looking ahead, Mountain Wubz returns in August, an EDM festival close to home that blends music, creativity, and a strong sense of place.

Later this month, White Sulphur Springs comes alive with the WV Dandelion Festival, a weekend filled with art, music, and family-friendly fun. With free outdoor concerts, local vendors, and activities for all ages, it’s a celebration that captures the spirit of community and the season.

On our cover, the Greenbrier Valley Home and Garden Tour proves that 40 looks better than ever. More than just an event, this beloved tradition reflects the care, creativity, and pride that make our communities such beautiful places to live and visit. Be sure to mark your calendar for June.

There’s no shortage of things to see and experience this month in the Greenbrier Valley. Living history actor Karen Vuranch brings Pearl S. Buck to life at Carnegie Hall. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing one of Vuranch’s other portrayals, and if you attend, you’re in for something special.

I also had the chance to visit the Alderson Depot and meet Don Sutherland, its unofficial caretaker and tour guide, along with Max, the best greeter around. It’s truly a gem and well worth adding to your spring and summer plans.

As always, The Agenda is filled with opportunities to experience what’s happening across the Greenbrier Valley, whether you’re drawn to live theatre, outdoor adventures, music, history, food, or simply getting out and enjoying the longer days. I hope you find something this month that feels like your kind of place to be.

Wishing you a wonderful May.

Lisa
