GOOD DEEDS, GREAT TUNES: LOCAL ARTISTS UNITE FOR GREENBRIER VALLEY’S GREATEST HITS TO HELP FEED THE COMMUNITY

Around here, doing good isn’t just something people talk about. It’s something we actually do. Neighbors check in on each other, volunteers jump in to serve meals, and local musicians donate their talents to make a difference. In this region, showing up for one another is just what we do.

And we get creative about it. From community dinners to benefit concerts, generosity often comes wrapped in music, laughter, and shared purpose. Helping hands and open hearts are never in short supply throughout the Valley and surrounding areas.

A perfect example? Greenbrier Valley’s Greatest Hits, an upcoming musical fundraiser supporting Saturday of Service (SOS), a local nonprofit feeding neighbors across the Valley and beyond. Local artists, community sponsors, and supporters are coming together for one unforgettable evening where entertainment meets impact.

Below are the full event details as provided by organizers:

Greenbrier Valley’s Greatest Hits – March 28, 2026 – Your presence is requested!

A one-of-a-kind musical fundraiser “Greenbrier Valley’s Greatest Hits” will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, 6:30 PM – 11 PM in the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine’s Student Center Conference Room (Clock Tower Building), located in Lewisburg WV. Sponsored by the WVSOM Christian Medical and Dental Association, all proceeds will benefit Saturday of Service (SOS), a 501c3 non-profit based at Edgewood Presbyterian Church. You can dance the night away with live music by artists from or with ties to the Greenbrier Valley. Heavy hors d’oeuvres, gift experiences silent auction, and a cash bar will add to the fun and excitement of the evening.

Opening the evening will be students from the WVSOM Music & Dance in Medicine Club who will perform cover songs with an array of musical instruments and genres. Richard Hefner and the Black Mountain Bluegrass Boys with special guests, Bob Foster and David Crandall (formerly of the Ramp Supper Band) will follow. The Decades Band, West Virginia’s custom cover band, will perform hits from various decades. Closing out the night will be Steel Pterodactyl, a West Virginia rock, funk, and groove band, highlighting their original songs. Between sets, enjoy the rising singer/songwriter Nashville star with ties to Greenbrier County, Zoe Jean Fowler, performing her original music. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Advance purchases can be made at https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/greenbrier-valleys-greatest-hits.

Saturday of Service (SOS), a 501c3 non-profit based at Edgewood Presbyterian Church, provides an opportunity to live the Gospel message that in serving others, we are serving Jesus. Free monthly meals are provided to those with limited incomes, seniors, those with disabilities, families with children, and to those who just need to see a smiling face. Meals are delivered to various sites in Greenbrier County and beyond, and for those with transportation, a meal can be picked up from the church. The inaugural meal was served in the fall of 2020 with 107 meals provided. Now, almost five years later, the average number of meals served each month is 850. SOS doesn’t just feed people meals. It offers opportunities to build relationships, to share hope, and to grow faith around the table. SOS addresses the physical need for food and the spiritual need for community and belonging so that recipients, as well as volunteers, can taste and see that God is good. Needless to say, as the numbers continue to grow, so does the need for increased funding. Some who receive meals do donate back to the cause, but folks are never asked to pay a fee of any kind. SOS is currently funded via donations, fundraisers, and grants. As this ministry nears the end of it’s fifth year, the need remains to focus on food insecurity within the Greenbrier Valley and beyond for anyone who needs or wants a meal. If one is interested in learning more about Saturday of Service, or wish to volunteer, contact Amber Hinkle, SOS Director, ahinkle@opendoorswv.com.
