WV Fine Artisans presents artists in action:  Jeff Davis, wood carver, who will be under the portico demonstrating how he carves a relief in wood and then paints it.  Jeff has been an active artist for over 40 years and people nationwide collect his pieces.  Ginger Danz, who paints with acrylic, will be featured inside the gallery.  Ginger resides in Fayette, WV, and shows her artwork all over the state.  Her current collection in the gallery was inspired by a trip to Italy and is vibrant & energetic.  Please join us to see these gifted artists and enjoy an hors d’oeuvre or two!  1042 Washington Street East, 667-0320.

Stop in the Greenbrier Valley Visitors Center to enjoy an evening of art, music, and history.  Monroe County artist Judith Bair will be September’s featured artist.  Her collection of oil paintings features “Messages from the Mojave” in contrast with local landscapes.  Judith will be in the center to meet visitors.  Also on display will be the traveling exhibit “West Virginia’s New Deal”.   The exhibit, on loan from the Appalachian Forest Heritage Area in conjunction with the Randolph County Museum and the Beverly Heritage Center, is a collection of twelve display banners depicting the story of the New Deal in West Virginia as part of Traveling 219’s project “Eleanor and Franklin: New Deal Art Along US 219”.  The display encompasses photos, writings, murals and architecture to tell the story of the New Deal in West Virginia tying it to themes of our history and experiences. Come in to meet Gibbs Kinderman and learn more about this educational exhibit.
