Slated from Thursday, June 3rd to Saturday, June 5th, the Mountain Music Festival is back and the lineup is shaping up to be a hot mix of funky jam tunes, spicy Appalachian string pounding, and mountain shaking beats. Held at Ace Adventure Resort in the New River Gorge National Park (just 1½ hours from Lewisburg), expect to kickoff summer with live music; several visual artists including live painters, sculptors, and fashion designers under the big tent; and epic adventures including whitewater rafting, zip-lining, mountain biking, rock climbing, and a waterpark. Event organizers say you will be surrounded by a community of like-minded adventurers who don’t mind a little moonshine with their music, or the other way around.

The music lineup is sure to delight and features several bands including Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Lettuce, The Wood Brothers, Tauk, Big Something, The Infamous Stringdusters, Arlo McKinley, Moon Hooch, The Werks, Empire Strikes Brass, Fletcher’s Grove, Funk You, Magnolia Boulevard, Buffalo Wabs & The Prince Hill Hustle, Joslyn & the Sweet Compression, The Kind Thieves, Black Garlic, The Wright Ave, Barefuzz, Groundhog Gravy, Dr. Bacon, Downtown Abby & The Echoes, Emma’s Lounge, The Settlement, 49 Winchester, Vintage Pistol, Reliably Bad, Matt Mullins & The Bringdowns, Andrew Adkins, Will Jones, The Mighty Good Times, Jake Dunn & the Blackbirds, and Paul Johnson & Corey Lee McQuade.

Funk You will play the Main Stage on Friday, June 4th from 6p-7:30pm. They tell us they will deliver a blend of progressive funk/rock music that touches on a lot of different styles with a focus to create a fun, party vibe that anyone can enjoy! “If you’re attending Mountain Music Festival, you won’t want to miss our set. Friends, fun, and love comprise the ethos of Funk You. Formed in 2010, they are a nine-piece musical juggernaut from Augusta, Georgia and are motivated by the love of live performance armed with a captivating sonic presence. The band says they place a healthy helping of soul atop a funky backbeat that continues to evolve after a decade on the road.

They played the Mountain Music Festival pre-party in the past and are thrilled to come back this year. They have also performed in a few other cities in West Virginia including Morgantown and Charleston. They say, “We love the festival grounds and vibe. It’s beautiful and we can’t wait to explore the mountains more and hang with everyone.”
