China Palace Keeps the Wok Fires Burning

As you probably know by now, all of Lewisburg’s restaurants and bars are temporarily closed for dine-in service until Thursday, May 21 2020. Things are changing quickly, but we do know that many restaurants are offering takeout, delivery, and/or outdoor dining. China Palace, on Rt 219 in Lewisburg,  is one of many locally-owned restaurants that are open and they are keeping the wok fires burning.  They are doing a brisk take-out, attracting customers craving the security of comfort food, with an egg roll on the side.

China Palace is open every day because this family business is still getting regular food supplies, has a small staff — and a ravenous fan base,  owner Eunice Wang says.

“A lot of customers have our restaurant number and they ask, “Are you guys open?”

Eunice goes onto say that when the restaurant reopened under the Governer’s guidelines, patrons initially were not used to ordering from the menu. But she is so glad that they have got the hang of it now. She says,

“Of course, 80% of the customers still want the buffet to be available. Me too, we can’t wait to have the buffet open to serve our customers. But it’s all up to the governor & the health department. As soon as we get the go-ahead order from the health department, I will be sure to let everyone know about it.”

The menu is extensive and includes all your favorites such as Sweet & Sour Pork, General Tso’s Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Moo Goo Gai Pan, House Lo Mein (mix of chicken, beef & shrimp), House Chow Mein, Egg Foo Young, Orange Beef, Kung Pao Twins, Crispy Duck, Indian Chicken, Beef w/ Brocolli, Beef with Szechuan Sauce, and so much more!

They are also offering Family Combos starting at just $8.95 per order. This menu includes 15 different dishes including General Tso’s Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Beef w/ Green Peppers, and more. All family combos are served with one Egg Roll and your choice of Egg Drop Soup, Wonton Soup, or Hot & Sour Soup, and Steam Rice or Fried Rice.

To take extra precautions with the current situation, the restaurant has installed a giant “sneeze guard “ at the register area to protect the customers & themselves. They also sanitize the working area & wash their hands constantly.
