After sunset, celebrate the New Year with Possum Holler Glee Club’s feel good party music at the Irish Pub in downtown Lewisburg. They are a six-piece string band from the foothills of West Virginia. Special guest, saxophonist Birch Graves, will sit-in with the band during this show. The fun starts at 9:30pm with an opening show by Kodie Brooks. Cover is $10 and doors prizes will be given out.

“Hands down, they kill [Billy Idol’s “Rebel Yell”] better than anyone else I know and the crowd always loves it!” – Amanda Grohoski

Drawing on everything from old-time and blues, to folk and funk, to punk rock and reggae and a little bit of jam, the Glee Club creates a sound that is simultaneously catchy and profound. Whether it be an obscure traditional, a funky original, or an instantly recognizable 80’s pop tune, you can expect a unique experience thanks to the off-the-cuff fluidity of Possum Holler.

Band members include: Dan Freeman on guitar and lead vocals; Jason Johans on Harmonica, Ukulele and vocals; Shane Allen on Guitar; Charles Hatcher on Bass and Vocals; Brian Carr on Keyboards and Trombone; Ben Hunt on Drums and Percussion (not pictured in photo).

Lead vocalist, Dan Freeman tells us, “We’re sure to put on a great show this year and will be adding some different material to our set list just for the occasion. I believe this is our second NYE’s show at the Pub. Last year’s event went off so well that Patrick asked us back to do it again and we didn’t hesitate to accept the offer. It’s really amazing to be performing in such a comfortable environment on such an eventful night that is surrounded by friends, strangers and great bartenders. Sometimes as a band you can find yourself performing in some rough places on New Year’s Eve. That’s not the case with the Irish Pub”

“I really love playing at the Irish Pub because Patrick and Andrea treat us so well,” – Charlie Hatcher.

Don’t miss out on the New Year’s celebrations at the Irish Pub in downtown Lewisburg. The pub is located at 1030 Washington Street East. Turn to the back cover! Also on this night downtown, there will be an NYE DJ night at the Sweet Shoppe and a NYE Party w/ DJ Kiss at the Asylum. See Hashtag agenda for more info!
