Fat Cheek Kat is a funk/roots band out of Winston-Salem, NC, known for its rockin’ live shows, fun-loving stage presence, and down-to-earth vibe. While the band has been likened to a fusion between artists such as Galactic, Blues Traveler, and Ray Lamontagne, it is constantly evolving soulful, groove-based sounds all its own. Whether the Fat Cheek Kat is getting down with one of frontman Andrew Lazare’s originals or putting a unique spin on one of many great covers, for the audience the party never stops.
Mountain Music Festival is held at ACE Adventure Resort June 3rd and 4th and all bands will perform on the Greenbrier Valley Brewing Co Lake Stage. This stage will sit in the middle of the resort, a 1,500-acre outdoor adventure property in the heart of the New River Gorge. This event will have a live art tent, lots of live music, a beach party, workshops, camping, and all the fun outdoor amenities Ace Adventure has to offer including white water rafting and zip lining.
Some visual artists who will create their masterpieces under the art tent are Ashton Hill, LGWaldo, Uncle Sam, Jahde, and Bryan Stacy. Music begins Thursday night with a pre-party featuring the Hornitz and Big Something. The Friday band list includes Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band, Cabinet, The Infamous Stringdusters, and Trampled by Turtles. Saturday music opens with Groove Fetish and closes with Lotus. The beach party will have water trampolines, a 40’ tall Wet Willie waterslide, a tower zip line, giant chessboard, launch bags, and a whole slew of other water activities. There are also workshops for yoga, hooping, slack line, and more.
