It’s time to put on your dancing shoes and join the Greenbrier County Committee on Aging (GCCA) and the WVSOM Student Geriatrics club for the annual Senior Adult Prom! Attendees will dance the night away with music from the 40’s-60’s and beyond. Come dressed for the prom, whatever that was in your day, or in blue jeans if you prefer. The point is to have fun! This event will be held on Friday, April 22nd from 7-10pm at WVSOM’s Alumni Building. Snacks and refreshments will be available. Tickets are $15 for single guests and $25 for couples. They are available for purchase at the Fairlea or Rupert Senior Centers or at the door. Residents of the local nursing homes and assisted living are invited to attend free of cost. Attendees are encourages to sponsor a table of 8 for $100 or $50 for half a table, with sponsors receiving free tickets and their displayed on the table.
Money raised from this event goes to meet the shortfall in GCCA’s Meals on Wheels program. The GCCA provides services to seniors throughout Greenbrier County. Besides Meals on Wheels, congregate meals are served at the Fairlea, Rupert, and Alderson sites; the Committee also provides transportation for appointments and shopping, in-home respite care, personal care, and medication management.
