It’s time to get in the holiday spirit as Lewisburg’s annual Christmas Parade is slated for Saturday, December 5th. Festivities begin at 1pm on Washington Street between Lee and Church, downtown. Winning participants will be determined in the following categories: favorite band, animal, walking group, float, antique vehicle, and best overall. Mike Kidd will be the master of ceremonies and announce each group as they pass City Hall.
This year’s judges are Krystal White Tawney, owner of Pinnacle Dermatology in Lewisburg; Sparrow Huffman owner of the Stardust Café and General Lewis Inn; and Christina Entenmann, managing editor of LBSPY.
Last year’s first place trophies were awarded to Revanna Preston for best band, Jessica Workman for best equestrian, Union Volunteer Fire Department for best fire engine, Images of Dance for best walker, S.J. Neathawk Lumber for best float, and Revanna Preston for best holiday spirit.
Bundle up, pick up a gingerbread latte or peppermint hot cocoa from the Wild Bean, and find a good spot to watch this entertaining annual event. Line-up begins at 11:30am in the parking area behind the former Lewisburg Elementary School on Lee Street.
