On Saturday, December 19th, breweries, distributors, and beer enthusiasts from across the region will gather on a winter evening for an unlimited sampling of over 50 beers of all styles and tastes (including winter seasonals) to get you in the holiday spirit! This event is held at Snowshoe Mountain Resort and beers will range from local favorites to nationally recognized award winners. The lineup includes robust winter warmers, IPA’s, porters, and many more. With admission, you will receive your own beer mug and a wristband. There will also be live music and activities throughout the night.

Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company out of Maxwelton, WV will showcase their Devil Ansel IPA, Mothman Black IPA, Wild Trail Pale Ale, Hefeweizen and Weizenbock; Big Timber Brewing from Elkins, WV will feature their Big Timber Blonde, Pale Ale and Frost Notch Winter Ale; and Mountain State Brewing Company out of Thomas, WV will bring their Seneca IPA, Cold Trail Ale, Miner’s Daughter Oatmeal Stout, and Almost Heaven Amber Ale. Northern Eagle Distributors will also be in attendance and is featuring Bridgebrew Moxee Coffee Stout, Southern Tier 2xMas, Oskar Blues Pinner, Flying Mouse Porter, and Duclaw Euforia.

The event kicks off at 4:45pm with a seminar called “The art of Brewing.” This educational component to the festival is limited to the first 50 people.

Then from 5:30pm-8pm, the Brewfest is open for sampling at the Connection Nightclub, which is Snowshoe’s slopeside party place. This venue is Snowshoe’s all around nightclub, bar, dance club, music venue and sports bar. It is located atop of Shavers Centre, very conveniently located between the Snowshoe Village and the rest of the sprawling condo complexes. The beer flows, the crowd is friendly, and the pool tables are full. There is also a large outdoor deck and balcony overlooking the ski area. Everyone must be 21 years of age to enter and proper ID is required.

Live music starts at 5:15 with The Weathered Rose. At 6:45pm, Spoon Fight takes the stage and at 8:30pm. To conclude the evening festivities, Appalachian Jam Rock band Fletcher’s Grove (pictured above) will perform a high-energy show at 9:30pm. This group mixes pulsating bass lines, dual-guitar solos, and an eclectic percussion section that makes standing still nearly impossible. By maintaining a solid focus on perfecting musical intricacy and creating seamless improvisation, Fletcher’s Grove has captured the imaginations of thousands in the Mountain State and beyond.
