A White Sulphur Springs music venue called The Rockin’ Horse Roadhouse hopes to strike a new cord with locals and visitors by offering several kinds of music, food, drinks, and fundraisers. It’s been a year and 3 months since Wild Bill’s Roadhouse (former Clover Club) closed its doors and Gerry Batemen has re-opened with this new venue. He tells us that he hopes to create a welcoming space where everyone can enjoy dinner and music by local and national acts.
Gerry is the founder of Equestrian Adventures in Fayetteville, WV. Since 1996, he has offered the best professional horseback outfitting in WV and the eastern United States. He also has lots of experience in music production and the music business. He is president of HRH Records, an independent record label, and has worked with some of the best producers in the best studios, creating the best sound recordings in the industry.
“It’s time to get back into the music business and this venue is what I need to start music again with the resurrection of HRH Records… The Rockin’ Horse is a restaurant with a music venue. All kinds of positive music will be welcomed and promoted. We want to be a little something for everyone” – Gerry Batemen, owner of The Rockin’ Horse.
Future plans for the establishment include a large outdoor deck on the back, Christian rock concerts, dj nights, throwback disco nights, air-band contests, live music on the weekends, and more. “The deck will be a place where our patrons can sit and enjoy the outdoor atmosphere accompanied by light acoustic music,” says Gerry. Expect to see musical acts by Billy Burnette, lead singer of Fleetwood Mac, Scott Travis of Judas Priest, the Gin Blossoms, Wooten Brothers, Bill Anderson, Walt Altridge, and West Butler.
The menu includes 75-cent wings and beverage specials on Wing Night every Wednesday. Flavors are Korean BBQ, Chile Garlic, BBQ, Jamaican Jerk, Ranch, Hot, and Sweet Chile. Every Friday is Seafood Night with steamed pots at $10.95 lb. for shrimp and crab legs. Nightly there are oysters on the half shell, nachos, burgers, mussels, fried chicken, Caribbean jerk sandwiches, 16” pizza or by the slice with your choice of several toppings to choose from. There’s also. bbq pork sandwiches, beer battered onion rings, stuffed jalapenos, fried green beans, and so much more.
“I’m very pleased to see the Rockin’ Horse open! We have many bars but no real clubs in the area. The stage and dance area are huge, the staff is friendly, and the food is great. This is a wonderful place for friends and families to gather while enjoying live music.” – Andy Burke, musician.
Go out and support the Rockin Horse. They are located off exit 175 on I-64 in White Sulphur Springs and on Route 60. With a new owner, new vibe, new food, new music, and new additions, this place is sure to please. Open everyday, their hours are Sunday-Thursday from 4-10pm, Friday 4pm-3am, and Saturday from 4pm-2:30am. Find them on facebook or at therockinhorse.club or call 304-956-2502
