Sat, Nov 23: Lawless Brown at Sweet Shoppe

LawlessBrownSML

On Saturday, November 23rd, Lawless Brown will be performing their first show at the Sweet Shoppe in downtown Lewisburg, 9pm. The genre is fun and energetic: Funk, Soul, Reggae, with a stadium sound. All music is orginal and they are currently focused on recording their first album this Winter 2013/14.

Comprised of a group of highly talented and professional musicians, you’ll find Lawless Brown’s performance to be flawless. You can go ahead and quote us on that. The bandmembers, most of whom are from local favorite Vern’s Pot O’ Chili, include: Neil Jones (vocals and rhythm guitar), Dan Freeman (vocals and lead guitar), Birch Graves (saxophone and flute), Brian Carr (trombone and keyboard), Charlie Hatcher (bass guitar), and Billy Ayers (who also plays for The Weight) on drums.

This band is comprised of many different influences so its difficult to label as what they sound like when compared to other musicians/artists. Everything by Lawless Brown is original material. They have spent hundreds of hours writing and rehearsing their music and are looking forward to your (the spectator) response.

If you’re wondering where the band name came from, here’s the story… The term “lawless brown” was introduced to the group by Neil Jones. Neil explained the term as old family expression he used growing up to describe food items that are right on the brink of being burnt. Being accurate to their name, the band uses this notion as a metaphor for their music. Lawless Brown is is right on the brink, but not quite overdone- still palatable and tasty.

As it stands now, Lawless Brown has one more show for the rest of 2013 so we suggest you see them this November 23rd.

If you want to find the band online, sorry you can’t. Online you won’t find any presence beyond facebook where there may be a post of a band upadate or upcoming show. But hey, that’s all the more reason to see them live.

If you have a venue and are interested in booking them, they may interested for early spring 2014. Contact Charlie Hatcher at 304-312-1977
