Howes’ Things in Lewisburg.

Howes’ Things will celebrate 2 years on July 1st. In that time the local as well as tourist communities have discovered a place that is unique to downtown Lewisburg. STYLE, COLOR, FUN, PANACHE is the motto for this small boutique.

“My concept was to have a shop that feels like a high end boutique in service and atmosphere but at prices anyone one can afford” says Lynda Howe, the owner.

Most items are under $25 and comments from customers are typically, “Wow, I CAN afford this” or just “Thank you for being here.” Some customers say they love driving by the window to see how pretty it is and find out what’s new.

Howes’ Things has a huge selection of scarves & wraps, jewelry and other accessories (including Men’s!). Some of the jewelry is made locally by Lynda and a few of her friends. Lynda and Janet (her sidekick in the store) also make original scarf hats that were featured in WV Living magazine. Lanny Howe hand carves shorebirds and Lynda paints the bigger blue herons and egrets. There are also photos for sale that are all in the family. Also, CD’s from local musicians as well as books and hand painted tiles from Eileen Kramer. If you know a history buff or have a historical home, there are reproduction lap desks, writing materials, lanterns and many other unique items. If you need something in bulk for a fundraiser or wedding talk to them, they may be able to help.

This year there has been an expansion on Bohemian clothing that was introduced last year. There are skirts and tops from Gypsy Rose as well as from Indonesia. Perfect for the summer heat.

Howes’ Things does several fundraisers each year. The community is more then welcome to suggest an organization that needs help.

Make sure you turn the corner onto 101 North Court Street. There are some wonderful shops and eateries that people are missing out on. Tell them LBSPY sent you!

Monday-Friday: 10am-6pm. Friday-Saturday: 10am-8pm.
