SAVE OUR LOCAL TOY STORE: HONNAHLEE!

Honnahlee

Hello Everyone, I’m launching a campaign to “Save our Local Toy Store, Honnahlee” The campaign, listed on CROWDTILT, needs to raise $20,000. Honnahlee founders, ROGER & COURTNEY SMITH have offered to help me get started with consulting. As of right now, the ONLY interest in Honahlee’s location is making it another OFFICE SPACE. Let’s see what we can do to keep this toy store going. – Christina Entenmann

DONATIONS AT $1 ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! IF YOU’RE FEELING REALLY GENEROUS, DOUBLE IT!

“A toy story: Part of what makes Lewisburg the very cool town it is to live in, is the very unique shops we have here. It saddens me that there is a distinct possibility that our toy store may close it’s doors forever. I find it quite believable that Christina Entenmann has a vision for this stores’ future. I know this amazing young woman can do anything she sets her mind to. Take a quick look at the campaign and become a part of our toy story.” – Lisa Stansell, Marketing Director at Mountain Messenger Newspaper (Dec 5, 2013).

MISSION STATEMENT
To continue to deliver toys that inspire our youth’s imagination while promoting physical and intellectual growth at downtown Lewisburg’s independently owned specialty toy store.

Hello and thank you for your interest in the donation campaign to benefit Honnahlee Toy Store in downtown Lewisburg, West Virginia.

You may have recently heard that Honnahlee is scheduled to close its doors in January, 2014. This beautiful retail location will be turned into OFFICE SPACE (political campaign office, church, etc) as this is the only interest that’s been shown.

Most of you understand the state of our nation’s economy but despite its current drag, we don’t want to lose something so special to our area. I myself have memories of taking my son to the toy store when he was an infant. On several occasions, this was the highlight of our trips into town.

Honnahlee is an independently owned fixture in downtown Lewisburg since 1999; its first owners were Roger and Courtney Smith. It’s most recently been owned and operated by Margaret Dolan.

Many of you know that Honnahlee is the perfect place to go place to go for your child’s birthdays, holidays, graduation, get well gifts, etc. This store is also known for its focus on imaginative, classic, educational, quality, kid-powered toys. The products are developmentally sound toys that promote open ended and active play that are child oriented, non-violent, and non-sexist. Some toys are gender free, multi cultural, and/or promote ecological, environmental, and/or social awareness.

Toys sold at specialty toy stores like Honnahlee are unique, long lasting, and with a more wholesome nature. For 14 years, this store has provided this community and visitors alike with toys built with sturdy materials and are designed for the purpose of being handed down to younger children in your family and to future generations.

The shopping experience here is about hard to find quality products that are beautiful, unique, safe, and fun all in a cozy, comfortable environment with high customer service. All of these qualities are reflected in the selection at Honnahlee.

o Unique merchandise
o Quality products
o Good selection
o Attractive merchandise display
o Great customer service in a warm and friendly environment

Let us continue the mission to deliver toys that inspire our youth’s imagination while promoting physical and intellectual growth. If we meet our funding needs, you will continue to see toys that maintain superior quality standards while coming from manufacturing facilities that follow environmental and social responsibility.

$20,000 by December 30th, 2013. If the goal is not met by December 30th, the effort will be cancelled due to the inability to meet the campaign-funding goal.
