Sat. March 25: Mtn Trails, Tunes & Ales!

On Saturday, March 25th from 2-9pm, The Mountain Music Trail presents Mountain Trails, Tunes and Ales at Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company (GVBC) in Maxwelton.  This a family-friendly fundraiser for the Mountain Music Trail (MMT) and includes live music, food vendors, brews, and kid-friendly games!

The music starts at 2pm with the the O’Gagnian Brothers. At 3:20pm, Black King Coal performs; Jeanne Hoffman takes the brewery stage at 4:40pm, Sugar Run Band plays at 6pm, and finishing the night’s performances are the Black Mountain Bluegrass Boys (pictured above), who start at 7:20pm.

Area non-profits will supply food for this event. Some vendors are High Rocks, Black Diamond Girl Scouts, and the WVSOM PAX/DOCARE Club. In the upcoming weeks, more vendors will be added to the list, so check the brewery’s website at for updates.

The brewery tells us they feel this event is a natural extension of their mission. They love West Virginia and have a sense of pride for this state and continuously pay homage to the state by naming their beers after local legends, mythical figures, and locales. One of their more popular brews is the Mothman Black IPA, which takes after the legendary moth like creature who was reportedly seen in the Point Pleasant area of West Virginia in 1966. The Mothman Black IPA is a hop forward, medium bodied black ale. With a 6.7% abv and 71 IBU’s, Mothman promises to satisfy any hophead.

Activities include giant games of Jenga! This is the classic Jenga game but much bigger. At setup it starts at 18 inches high and can stack over 3 feet in play. The kids will enjoy bigger build-ups and bigger crashes. Other games at the brewery include Corn Hole, darts, cards, Wii, and plenty of board games.

About the Mountain Music Trail (MMT): They promote and present the traditional music, dance, and folkways of the Allegheny Mountain region. Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company is proud to be both partners and a dedicated venue for MMT. They host MMT musicians every month with their first Saturday Concert Series. They tell us, “Partnering with the Tunes & Ales Music Festival is a way to feature an entire day of some of the incredible musicians the MMT promotes while helping to raise funds for musicians and area non-profits.  Part of our mission at GVBC is to promote the region and it is an honor to be involved and engaged in this community. We love and have a sense of pride for West Virginia, and pay homage by naming our beers after local legends, mythical figures, and locales.  Tunes & Ales Music Festival is a natural extension of our mission.” – Lisa Stansell, Marketing Manager at Greenbrier Valley Brewing Co.

"Over the last 10 years, we have tried several avenues for advertising. Beyond a doubt, our greatest return has been through HASHTAGWV. Whether it be in the HASHTAGWV print edition, or online, our customers, both locals and tourists, really do look for this media form to be in tune with what’s going on in the area and for destination shopping. Advertising with LBSPY (now HASHTAG) has unequivocally been a great asset for our business!" - Craig Miller w/ Serenity Now Outfitters. Ad rates start at just $20! Click here for MEDIA KIT

Patrick4CMPLTshrp "LBSPY is the best thing that has happened in Greenbrier County since I have been here for seven years. Maybe the whole state.... a first class operation and a lot of hard work," Patrick O'Flaherty (pictured above), The Irish Pub, Lewisburg, WV

Donating = Loving

LBSPY remains D.I.Y. in nature and it takes hundreds of hours a month to research and write, and thousands of dollars to sustain. If you find any joy and value in it, please consider making a one time or recurring monthly donation of your choosing, between a cup of coffee at The Wild Bean and a good dinner at Food & Friends
