Sunset Berry Farm is well-known to spectators near and far and loved by many. The farm, winner of West Virginia’s official Sweetest Strawberry Award, is located in Monroe County and offers many exciting attractions throughout the season. Every Sunday, Marketfest is held at Sunset Berry Farm, along with various other festivals from April to October each year. Owner Jennifer Gilkeson says the farm focuses on entertainment and tourism as well as crops, which remain very important. She hopes to attract visitors of all ages, with a special emphasis on creating a fun, safe environment for children to enjoy the outdoors.

On September 15, Sunset Berry Farm will host its annual West Virginia Sunflower Festival, featuring numerous activities for the entire family. The event will include the state’s largest bounce pad, a tractor-pulled cow train, axe throwing, hoop shooting, a scavenger hunt in the enchanted forest, a build-your-own-flower-bouquet workshop, sunflower paint & sip, a meet-and-greet with Hank the Tank, a 60-pound Sulcata tortoise, a butterfly release in remembrance of loved ones, and much more.

With over 50,000 sunflowers in full bloom and props set for spectacular photography opportunities, guests are encouraged to bring their own cameras or schedule a session with a professional photographer upon arrival. If you cannot make it to the festival but still want photos in the sunflower field, you can visit the farm for photos from September 14-21, from 5-9 p.m.

Additionally, many craft and food vendors will be present at the WV Sunflower Festival.
