
Get ready for a day filled with sweet treats, toe-tapping tunes, and unforgettable performances! The seventeenth annual Lewisburg Chocolate Festival is set to take over the town on April 12 from 11 AM to 3 PM, offering a deliciously fun lineup of events for visitors of all ages.
Festival tickets are available at The Visitor’s Center, and will also be available online up until 11:59 PM on April 10 unless they sell out first!) so don’t hesitate. There will be a VERY LIMITED amount of tickets available for purchase at Will Call on the day of the festival. Tickets can be purchased at www.visitlewisburgwv.com/lewisburg-chocolate-festival. Most attendees purchase 20-25 tickets per person.
The day kicks off at 9 AM with the Chocolate Chase, a fun run hosted by Hospice Care—so lace up your sneakers and register now! As the festival gets into full swing, guests can enjoy live music by Lee Dean as Frank Sinatra at 11 AM, and an exciting chef demonstration by Chef Pablo Rodriguez of The Homestead also at 11 AM.
Entertainment abounds throughout the festival, with unique performances like El Gleno Grande, The Horse Guy (11:45 AM and 1:45 PM) and a magical Willy Wonka on Stilts act throughout the festival. Theater lovers won’t want to miss live performances of “Always Keep Your Lion on a Leash” at the Greenbrier Valley Theatre at 12 PM & 2 PM (roughly 30 mins runtime).
Chocolate enthusiasts can indulge in a chocolate tempering demo by Kevbot Chocolate at 12:30 PM, plus a mousse-eating contest (time TBD)—a must for anyone who dares to take on the ultimate chocolate challenge! Thanks to the Lewisburg Rotary Club for their hard work to bring back this event.
More live music takes center stage at 1 PM with 2nd Block Rock, and another chef demonstration by Chef Jean Francois of The Greenbrier Resort will showcase culinary mastery, also at 1 PM.
For families and fans of fantasy, the festival offers ALL DAY attractions, including:
- Free Candyland photo ops
- Face painting by Nicole Suptic (starting at $8)
- Meet-and-greets with the costumed 501st Legion, Garrison Corellia
- Humane Society pet adoptions (because what’s sweeter than giving a pet a forever home?)
This year’s non-profit partner is the Greenbrier Historical Society. They have been instrumental in mailing tickets, gathering volunteers and more! Volunteers from Seed Sowers and other non-profits will be present. A portion of festival proceeds will benefit the Greenbrier Historical Society directly. The Greenbrier Historical Society and North House Museum play a huge role in our community and the Lewisburg Downtown Business Association (LDBA) is so happy to have them play a part in making this year’s festival a success.

ABOUT THE GREENBRIER HISTORICAL SOCIETY
Greenbrier Historical Society and North House Museum preserves and promotes the history of the Greenbrier Valley, including Monroe, Greenbrier, Pocahontas, and Nicholas counties. The North House Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM with the last tour at 3 PM. When visiting GHS you can also visit the historic Blue Sulphur Springs Pavilion, The Barracks building on Jefferson and Randolph Street, The Wagon House, Rhoda’s House, and the Law Library. In addition to GHS properties and exhibits, The North House Museum contains an extensive archive and library ideal for conducting genealogy research and discovering primary sources of local history.
Executive Director Dara Vance says, “The North House Museum contains treasures from the area’s pre-history up to modern times. Our entire collection, from our 1790s freight wagon, to the oldest quilt on the eastern seaboard, tells the story of our communities and our nation.”
Current exhibits include The Tavern Room of the Star Hotel, Echoes of Slavery, and Labors of Love – Quilts from the Past.
