Good Eats

Corn & Flour has a special atmosphere that is inviting and comfortable, but the best part is the delicious bagels. Owner, Suzie Hoffman, says she wanted to create a positive and safe space, and she has succeeded, making it a wonderful place for not only customers but her employees as well. “Our favorite thing about working here is the women! We take care of each other and make sure to put love into everything we make.” stated employees of Corn & Flour.

Suzie shared that owning a business and being in charge is hard. It was especially hard during covid but having a great crew and a positive, safe place to work is paramount. The team has much pride and joy about the community they have built. The welcoming environment is palpable, and the food is magnificent.

Everything on the menu is made from scratch, including the bagels — which are the bast bagels you can get outside of New York, or as one patron says, “better than New York bagels”. Interestingly, bagels take quite a bit of time to make, keeping the crew very busy. The menu has something for everyone. Best sellers include the bacon, egg, and cheese bagel and the Hipster that includes lox, cream cheese, pickled onion, and capers. Staff favorites are the Sonoma Chicken Salad, the Cali Club, and the cold cut Roast Beef Sandwich.

How did this wonderful place come to be? Well, Suzie worked in this exact bakery for many years and loved it. She always dreamed of opening her own place. On January 11th, 2018, that dream became a reality. Side note: Brandon Morgan always remembers the bakery birthday!

Changes on the horizon include expanding the coffee selection to include specialty coffees, updating the decor, and increasing customer engagement while expanding on things like the Dog Wall where they post pictures of patron’s pups!
