For more than 10 years, HashtagWV has been the locally-owned and independently-operated unique source for all things art, culture, and entertainment in West Virginia, the Mountain State.

Currently, the print edition is distributed free each month throughout 15 counties across West Virginia and Virginia, with the website serving the entirety of West Virginia and the surrounding Appalachian region. As one of only two female-owned publications in the Mountain State, HashtagWW proudly carries on the national tradition of “The City Paper.”

HashtagWV Art & Entertainment brings raw energy to its pages and fills its website with a wide array of sensory stimulants. Our eclectic team of writers, editors and content producers create a fully-immersive entertainment experience designed to showcase local artists, and share the culture of Appalachia with our readers both near and far.

Our print edition has a monthly circulation of over 13,000 papers, averaging approximately 35 pages, and is distributed free of charge to our readers. It boasts editorial features such as B-Sides and Badlands and Drowned in Sound – both highlighting the Appalachian music scene; Off the Beaten Path, which takes an inside look at the region through the eyes of a lifelong Mountaineer; WV Artist on Display features a different artist every month; Mountain Scene highlights local businesses and things to do, Good Eats features the best local food and drinks around the state, and Fireside Folklore, an exploration of the unexplainable-history of the wild and wonderful. Our ever-growing website currently welcomes an average of 18,000 monthly visitors, and our social media platforms enjoy a combined audience of well over 40,000 followers.  

Working closely with the West Virginia Press Association, as well as numerous local sponsors,  HashtagWV Art & Entertainment is committed to keeping independent coverage of art, culture and entertainment thriving within the Mountain State and beyond.
