Monroe County Shrine Club’s Egg Hunt a Big Success!

As pandemic restrictions have loosened and the ban on public gatherings has become a memory of the past, communities across West Virginia did not want to be left behind on the fun and festivities associated with the Easter holiday.

This year’s Monroe County Shrine Club‘s Easter celebration in Union was decorated with a colorful egg hunt, giveaways, and loads of community support to make it all possible.

On Saturday, April 16th, about 56 children aged infant to 12 years young, participated in an egg hunt with a whopping 1,400 eggs. While this year’s attendance was slightly smaller than years past, the faces were all smiles in what was this year’s 6th annual egg hunt hosted by the Monroe County Shriners.

This was a free event to bring the community together and prizes included several bicycles, Easter baskets, scooters, wagons, big wheels, $2 bills, and even a robot!

“For many of us, this is our favorite annual event and we enjoy watching the children grow up”

– Rick Edwards

Among the many sponsors who helped make this event a success were Ana and Joe Lusk with Lusk Farms, Jerry Mann, Steve Dickinson, Audrina Mill, Kelli and Brandon Eggleston, our team here at HashtagWV, Rick Edwards, and Jerry Mann with M&M Siding and Windows.

Special thanks to Michael McMillan, the students who helped hide the eggs, Jessica Allen who helped coordinate the volunteers, and all of the Shriners who helped make this event a success.
