Update on this journey: as of last night, April 4, 2022, the show sadly stopped for ‘American Idol’ darling Kelsie Dolin. So heartbreaking to see you go Kelsie. You are such a bright talent!

“Dolin’s humble demeanor and grateful heart has captured the hearts of Americans and brought judges to tears.”

The next round of American Idol is tonight, Monday, April 4 at 8 p.m. This evening’s performances are expected to be the last round of competition before the live performance phase of American Idol.

Dolin, 18, is currently unemployed and was raised by her grandparents. Her grandparents took over custody of her and her sister before the state of West Virginia could. She said her sister was born with an opioid addiction

Dolin told the public that her grandmother had passed away in September because of heart problems and COVID. Dolin said she was auditioning for her grandmother because her grandmother always wanted her to sing in church.

Another fan shared, “Incredible performance by kelsie dolin #AmericanIdol.” “I wish Kelsie could see how amazingly talented she is #AmericanIdol,” expressed a fan. “I’m so proud of Kelsie #AmericanIdol,” commented a fan.
