Friday, Feb 11: Cody Wickline at Bluefield Arts Center!

The Bluefield Arts and Revitalization Corporation is pleased to present Cody Wickline at the Bluefield Arts Center on Friday, February 11 from 7-9pm.

Wickline is a singer-songwriter-mountaineer from the mountains of Southern West Virginia.

Wickline is a singer-songwriter-mountaineer from the mountains of Southern West Virginia and was a contestant on Season 8 of The Voice. Since then, he has opened for Lynyrd Skynyrd, JoDee Messina, and John Michael Montgomery, and performed at the opening of the George Jones Museum.  In May 2015 he headlined his own show at The Raleigh County Convention Center. He played twice at Jamboree in the Hills, and performed at the WV State Fair. Cody’s passion is music and entertaining his audiences. His musical influences are Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams, Sr., and George Jones.

Wickline was a contestant on Season 8 of The Voice.

His version of the George Jones classic “He Stopped Loving Her Today” was soulful and unique and captured the attention of the judges and garnered a standing ovation from the crowd almost immediately.  His rendition is the number 4 best performance in the history of NBC’s The Voice.  Jones’s widow, Nancy, approved of Wickline’s rendition of her late husband’s legendary tune. After his performance aired on “The Voice,” she reached out to him. “She called my house and that was really cool getting a phone call from Nancy Jones,” Wickline said. “She told me that George would have been proud of the way I sang his song and that means a lot coming from her.”

Wickline tells us “it’s a pleasure to be playing in Bluefield, WV for my fellow West Virginians and I can’t wait to put on a great show for them and their families.”

Admission is $15 and tickets may be purchased online at bluefieldartscenter.com. The Bluefield Arts Center is located at 500 Bland Street in downtown Bluefield.
