If you enjoy good ol’ boot kicking country music look up Thomas Taylor Band, you won’t be disappointed! You’ll find them playing a range of covers from Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, George Jones, and more!

They tell us their focus is primarily on the “Honky Tonk Genre”

Together since 2017, they are “dedicated to preserving and continuing traditional country music”. They tell us their focus is primarily on the “Honky Tonk Genre”, but have a vast catalog of material. “We released our first album ‘Another Round’ in August, 2020. We are also influenced by Western Swing music. We are as country as it gets!”

They will play the Ronceverte River Festival on Saturday, June 12th from 3:30p-6:30pm.

Bandmembers are Thomas Taylor, lead singer, lead and rhythm guitar; Don Drummer on pedal steel guitar; Butch White on drums; fiddler, Jerry Wood; Bill Clapham on Piano; and bassist, Daryl Hutton.

They will play the Ronceverte River Festival on Saturday, June 12th from 3:30p-6:30pm. The river festival kicks off on Friday, June 11th at 7pm in downtown with the Grand Parade, led by the WVU Mountaineer. This night will resume with live music, games, food, and a performance by Kent Family Circus at Island Park. The fun continues Saturday at 10am with kids’ activities, including Rock Painting and the Best Dressed Duck Coloring Contest. The Friends of the Library will be there with Strawberry Shortcake and the Lions Club will host 3 on 3 Basketball. Activities continue throughout the day with competitions, Thomas Taylor Band at noon, and the Great Rubber Ducky Race at 4p. Thomas Taylor says their favorite part about playing this event is connecting with the audience who are always ready for a good time.  The event goes out with a bang at 10pm with their “largest fireworks display ever!” For more information and a complete schedule, visit roncevertewv.org.
