Grandpa Larry’s Post Quarantine Recovery Photos, Story, and Poem

I know this is just a vanity, but part of my brand is that old picture at the top of my column. I don’t even have that shirt anymore! And I always get a haircut in spring because I like to fly with my cockpit open, and don’t like my hair blowing everywhere and slapping me in the face.

I love my spring visits with Crystal at the Body and Sol Salon.

I love my spring visits with Crystal at the Body and Sol Salon. Check out their new location at 518 W. Washington St. in Lewisburg. And here’s a heads up to my favorite photographer, Jenny Harnish. Check her out at Greenbrier Images and Videos.

Anyway, I promise I won’t mention the virus again. I’m sure you’re just as worn out as me.

We all went through this long quarantine together, and now, with two vaccines I’m feeling a little more relaxed. I still wear my mask as a courtesy and hope you will, too. I’ve learned a lot through it all. Why not wash things before you put them away? It’s just a good safety measure, because there are other viruses and flues and colds running around all the time. And did you know that viruses can survive for a very long time in the freezer? So just throwing stuff in there doesn’t work. Anyway, I promise I won’t mention the virus again. I’m sure you’re just as worn out as me.

GRANDPA LARRY’S POST QUARANTINE RECOVERY POEM

I saw two people
today, hugging and
laughing, their masks
hiding their mouths,
their eyes
shining with
happiness;
one stood back,
and gave the other
the old peace sign,
a V with two fingers,
and said,
“V for vaccination,”
and they both
laughed again.
