Drowned in Sound: Hard Ciders & Acoustic Tunes at Hawk Knob!

This spring and summer, get out with friends, enjoy Barrel Heritage Dry Hard Ciders, and relax to acoustic tunes during happy hour at Hawk Knob Appalachian Hard Cider in Lewisburg. From April to July, the lineup so far includes The Untrained Professionals, Seldom Free, Logan Halstead, Joshua Eadie, and MA’AM.

Alternative/Acoustic duo, The Untrained Professionals will grace the Hawk Knob tent on Saturday, April 17th from 5p-7pm. Coming to us from Beckley, Clinton Scott (guitar/vocalist) and Chris Huddle started this group in 2018 and play both covers and originals. Some of their favorite covers are Johnny Cash’s “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Let Her Cry” by Hootie and the Blowfish, The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights”, and “Sober” by Tool. Chris tells us, “If we don’t know the song, we will give it a shot!”

The duo is ready to start playing 2-3 shows a week again and tell us they are excited to return to the cidery this April. They say their favorite parts of the cidery are the immaculate views, delicious ciders, and friendly crowd. They also reveal that the Elderberry Infused Hard Cider keeps them coming back. We have to agree! The Elderberry is a wonder of crisp perfection, using a process to include a bourbon barrel being infused for 10 months to age the cider from heirloom apples grown here in the Greenbrier Valley.

This April, Clinton and Chris invite you to more show dates including Pikeview Lounge in Beckley on Thursday the 8th, Freefolk Brewery in Fayetteville on Saturday the 10th, Calacino’s Pizzeria and Sports Bar in Beckley on Friday the April 23rd.

Their May schedule includes shows at: Bacova Beer Co. in Hot Springs, Virginia on Saturday the 1st, Calacino’s on Friday the 21st, Chimney Corner Café in Ansted on Saturday the 22nd, and Outlaw Bar and Grill in Herndon on the 28th and 29th.  Stay updated with Chris and Clinton’s future show dates. Search “The Untrained Professionals” on facebook. Chris says, “We would like for everyone to support all local music, venues and businesses. Show ‘UP’ and show us some love!”

Plan for more shows at Hawk Knob!

On Saturday, May 1st, check out Dan Freeman, Nathan Seldomridge, and Joanna Burt-Kinderman with Seldom Free. They will play all your favorite songs in acoustic from 4-6pm.

You can stream his two popular originals with a Tyler Childers vibe called “Far From Here” and “Dark Black Coal” which you can stream here: soundcloud.com/user-790149075 and follow him on fb @LoganHalsteadMusic.
