Sat. April 14: Denise Glass Sings Patsy Cline

The Virginia Opry’s “A Tribute to Patsy Cline” will be performed by Denise Glass and the Doug Lester Band at the Historic Masonic Theatre in Clifton Forge, VA on Sat., April 14, at 8:00 p.m.

Crossing County Lines and the Appalachian Pickers will open for Glass.  Both youth bands make up the New “Old School” Junior Virginia Opry that was formed in 2017 to open for The Virginia Opry’s shows.

Glass began performing as a vocalist in her father’s band as a teenager, and her love for Patsy Cline has led her to perform “A Tribute to Patsy Cline” at such venues as the Lee Theatre in Pennington Gap, Virginia.  She also tours with Michael Hoover as a vocalist.

We are looking forward to a great show that will be opened by two youth bands, The Appalachian Pickers, and Crossing County Lines. Both will warm up the audience for Denise Glass and the Doug Lester Band’s “A Tribute to Patsy Cline.” Box Office: (540) 862-5655 or online: www.historicmasonictheatre.com. – Appalfolks of America.

Crossing County Lines is a bluegrass and old-time music band made up of Jacob Holdren, Isaac Blake, Eli Phillips and Tanner Lacks. The Appalachian Pickers is a five-piece bluegrass and old-time music band comprised of Eli Whitley, William Webb, Kaeli Berry, Nathan Fender and Justin Broughman.

M. Ray Allen, founder and president of Appalfolks of America Association, remarked, “The Virginia Opry was honored in 2017 by the Virginia General Assembly for presenting 25 years of country music in the Alleghany Highlands, and Denise Glass and the Doug Lester Band will be added to the list of such notable guests that will have performed on The Virginia Opry as The Farm Hands, The Lonesome River Band, Mountain Thunder, The Pony Express, Bob Campbell and the Coachmen, Keith Bryant, and the late Dan Seals.”

Tickets for the show may be reserved for $12, $15, or $20 prior to the day of the show by calling the box office at (540) 862-5655 or going online at www.historicmasonictheatre.com. Tickets are $2 more the day of the show.  Group rates for advance tickets are available.

Allen concluded, “I thank the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Tourism for its support of The Virginia Opry.”
