Chased by Zombies? Speed Up!

Whether they are slow or fast, if zombies chase you, you have to speed up! Some will walk and many will run but we won’t know for sure until race day, Saturday, October 24th. It’s up to you to survive the zombie epidemic coming to downtown Lewisburg, WV with Run United Way’s annual Half Marathon and Zombie 5k: Run of the Living Dead.

Everyone is invited to sign up for this event. The run starts at 9:00am at 105 Church Street (beside New River Community College) and registration is from 7:30-8:30am. Half marathon runners will compete along Fairview Road to the Airport and back. The total distance is 21.2km. Last years 1st place winners were Gretchen McDonough (1:39:50) on the women’s leaderboard and Daniel Day (1:47:34) on the men’s leaderboard. Each half marathon participant receives a t-shirt and finishers medal. Top male and female in each age group also gets a trophy. Every 5k runner will receive a t-shirt and top finishers in each age group will get a prize. Pre-registered Zombies will receive a t-shirt. A prize will be awarded for best make-up and costume!

The cost of the run is $45 for the Half Marathon, $20 for the 5k Run, and $10 for the 5k Zombie Walk/Run. Registration ends October 19th at 11:59pm. Sign up now at aptiming.com/RunUnited.
