FudgeStreet Counter

Expect the unexpected when you walk into Fudge Street Cafe in Covington, Virginia. Located inside the old Covington Grocery Building in an area that may be undergoing a cultural renaissance, you’ll be delighted at first sight. It resembles a temporary gallery space more than an authentic eating establishment (chalkboard wall; simple wood finishes; granite countertops at every bar, huge metal chandeliers, lounge seating, pool tables, and a welcoming staff).

“Friendliest staff, great food, and a beautiful old building, creating a wonderful ambiance. Have had lunch many times, can’t wait for dinner” – Mary McCoig. Feb 1, 2014. via facebook.

Upcycling during the restoration from grocery store to restaurant, you’ll see that the tables in the back room are the cooler doors from the Covington Grocery Building. The legs on the tables are the stands from the conveyors that hosed the belt driven conveyor to transport the boxes throughout the large building.

“Have tried it a couple of times this week for lunch and it’s been excellent! Great service and really super tasting food. Go give it try, bet you’ll like it!” – Darrell W. January 17, 2014. via facebook.

Lunch and dinner is served daily. Below you’ll see the Incredible Hulk Spinach Wrap. Most lunch prices are below $10. And stay for the coffee. It’s coffee-house delicious and just enough strong to give you that perfect mid-day pick me up.
