For many people, there’s no more picturesque setting to celebrate the holidays than in scenic Appalachia. Across Greenbrier County and beyond, there are several holiday events the next two weeks. Provided is a list of things-to-do to bring in the season.

Nothing says Christmas like the traditional parade rolling down the main strip. Bundled in winter wear, we line the street to brave the shivering cold mountain weather to see the creative floats and catch a glimpse of Santa. Ronceverte hosts their parade on Monday, Dec 2 at pm. Marlinton will have their parade on Friday the 6th at 7pm. The Marlinton parade will be held during Holiday Open House where hot chocolate and cookies will be served all night. Also on the 6th is “Home for the Holidays” Christmas Parade in Clifton Forge at 6:30pm. On Saturday the 7th, 3 parades are scheduled: Lewisburg at 1pm, White Sulphur Springs at 5pm, and Rainelle at 6pm.

Other events include:

The WV Symphony Orchestra will perform your favorite holiday music at Carnegie Hall on Thursday, December 5th at 7:30pm.

On Friday the 13th at 7pm, Tamarak and Treehouse Arts will present A Christmas Carol in the Governor Hulett C Smith Theatre.

Throughout the month, The Greenbrier will continue to celebrate 60 days of Christmas. Events include Holiday Culinary Demonstrations, Ribbon & Bow Seminars, Booksignings, photos with Santa, Strolling Carolers, Glass Blowing Demonstrations at Virtu, Tree Lighting Ceremonies, performances by the Springhouse Dancers, your chance to meet the characters from the Wizard of Oz, and more.
