A Woman, A Story, & A Life In-Between: Dog Cake by Tiffany Blair

My sister recently found a dog cake kit at a local discount store. In honor of Monty’s special treat, I present to you a guest post entitled “A Guide to Baking Cupcakes For Your Dog” by Angela Blair. Enjoy! Have a few drinks. Start mixing; pay close attention to every detail. Make adorable mini cupcakes. Start mixing the frosting. Notice that 7 tablespoons of sugar seems like overkill. Add them anyway. See that it said 7 teaspoons. Look at the dog and say “Oh well – let’s make a simple syrup!” Put frosting juice in a sauce pan on medium heat. Walk away and forget about it. Remember it 20 minutes later. Find a charred pan with a half-inch thick brick of stickiness the consistency of rubber cement in the center. Add some oil, add some water; stir, stir, stir. Dip mini cupcakes in frosting; swirl around. Give one to the begging dog. Watch him take double the time you expected to eat it. Watch him lick the air uncontrollably for 5 full minutes. Suspect him of being in anaphylactic shock. Go into full-on panic mode. Shove a Benadryl down his throat. Watch him calm down at little; put him outside. Soak and scrub sauce pan; wash all instruments. Bring dog inside. Watch him run five laps around the living room and then poop in front of his crate. Put him back outside. Have a few more drinks.

P.S: Monty is fine – he just really liked the frosting and didn’t want to let any go to waste!
