Impromptu Dance Party by Tiffany Blair

A Woman, a Story, & a Life In-Between: Impromptu Dance Party.

A few weeks ago, I woke up in the middle of the night with my hands balled into little fists of fury. I shook them out, took a few deep breaths, and went back to sleep. Since then, though, I’ve noticed that the same thing happens to me most nights. Clearly there is some sort of stress I’m not getting rid of during the day, and it’s manifesting through my clenched hands. Stress has been referred to as a “silent killer,” so I definitely don’t want to let this linger. Sure, I could maybe work on my organizational skills so my workload won’t become too stressful. I could see a counselor or go to a doctor for medication. However, I think I’ll opt for a more organic and possibly even more therapeutic route – the Impromptu Dance Party! Nothing is quite as freeing as turning on some music and just going wild. My sister (poor soul) has been mesmerized by my solo rave action more times than she would care to admit, I’m sure, but I have gotten out of the habit recently and I think that could be part of my problem. Whether you’re home alone or with a group at a music festival – I highly recommend it. So, go crazy and rest a little easier – I know I will!
