We are River GODS by Penny C

Cass to Marlinton everyone called us crazy… Welll!!! The first 12 miles from Cass to Clover Lick.. from henseforth shall be called the shallow water show. Not kidding 10 min in the kayak with me and all the equipment and cooler go over. My ankel with at least 300 lbs of running water pressure is caught UNDER THE KAYAK. No danger of drowning but kayaks make a really sickening crackle sound in such a case!… Nicholas Irvine saved me!! Everything was salvaged except the water bottle. Shallow water bottoming out and fighting the river summed up the next 5 hours. Camp was set up at Greenbrier Trail Mile Marker 70 cause i needed a damn nap.. Nick found ramps and dinner was amazing campfire cooking and our hand~o~so~dandy spoon fork survival apparatus was well used. (Stacy Hayes mocked said purchase) Camp packed up and kayaks on the river by 11am.. 20 miles of beautiful river, the rest of the wine being polished off.. the triumphant paddlers pulled into Marlinton at 5pm. WE ARE RIVER GODS.
