Take a Tour at Smooth Ambler Spirits

SAS Group 5lbspy

Not only did the Scotch-Irish bring fine whiskey-making skills to our mountains but Appalachia’s water, grains, and mountain air make for ideal conditions to distill and age these spirits in Greenbrier Valley.

Located just 5 miles outside downtown Lewisburg, Smooth Ambler Spirits is pleased to open their distillery to the public for free tours so you too may learn about how small batch products mixed with old world methods can create award-winning spirits. So award winning, in fact, that Smooth Ambler recently won “Best Artisan Merchant Bottler” by the American Distillers Institute. During Lewisburg Chocolate Festival, we encourage you to go behind the scenes and learn how this distillery is doing things the old-fashioned way in a 45-minute tour.

Founded in 2009 by Tag Galyean and John Little, Smooth Ambler Spirits is Lewisburg’s very own, and truly original, liquor distillery. Creating award winning, handcrafted, small-batch vodka, gin, and bourbon and other whiskeys, this distillery is a modern work of art.

“I literally just had my first shot of your Whitewater Vodka and I must say I was not disappointed. It definitely has that light caramel taste your website describes, which normally I would not want in any Vodka, be it works with your’s. Also, it leaves a nice caramel aftertaste in the back of your mouth that’s not overpowering. Overall I’d give it an A,” – Levi M.

We at LBSPY hope you’ll give Smooth Ambler Spirits’ patiently crafted spirits a try. See for yourself what a true artisan distillery can do with old-fashioned craftsmanship.
