The Greenbrier Valley's #1 Source for Food, Music, Shopping, Theatre, and Events!

FROM THE EDITOR

March is here, bringing with it the promise of warmer days, later sunsets, and that first official day of spring, even if our hills and valleys need a little convincing. I don’t know about you, but I am more than ready to shake off winter hibernation.

And what a month to do it.

Our communities are wide awake right now. Sweet Honey in the Rock® takes the stage at Carnegie Hall. St. Patrick’s Day celebrations will bring out the green, and a whole lot of revelry. There is the heart behind the Healing Holler, electrifying performances at the Pocahontas County Opera House, from fast-paced swing-era tunes to timeless, road-tested songs, the Penguin Plunge benefiting Saturday of Service, the annual Celtic Knot 5K, and the upcoming Greenbrier Valley’s Greatest Hits fundraiser. It’s music, movement, generosity, and neighbors showing up for neighbors.

Around here, events aren’t just dates on a calendar. They are neighbors supporting neighbors. They are volunteers jumping into icy water to fight hunger and loneliness. They are musicians filling historic halls. They are reminders that even after a long winter, this region shows up with generosity, creativity, and a whole lot of heart.

So take a peek at The Agenda. Circle something that makes you smile. Text a friend. Try something new. Let March be your excuse to step outside and let this season, and this place, inspire you.

Here’s to good deeds, great tunes, and, hopefully, consistently warmer days ahead.

With gratitude,
Lisa
