As the holiday season approaches, downtown Lewisburg transforms into a winter wonderland, ready to welcome both locals and visitors for a festive kickoff. The air is filled with excitement and a hint of cinnamon, inviting everyone to partake in the celebrations.
The festivities began with a grand tree lighting ceremony on November 21st in the central Green Space, where a towering tree adorned with twinkling lights and colorful ornaments becomes the heart of the celebrations. Families gather around, sipping hot cocoa and enjoying the sound of carolers singing timeless holiday classics.
Local retailers are showcasing gifts and seasonal treats. The aroma of freshly baked goodies waft through the street from The Frosted Farmgirl, enticing passersby to indulge in the holiday spirit.
Children can meet Santa Claus where they can share their wishes and take memorable photos. A festive parade winds through the downtown on December 4th at 7 pm, featuring floats adorned with lights and lively performances that capture the joy of the season. You can also visit Santa’s Mailbox and do The Polar Express Scavenger Hunt daily!
As night falls, the streets come alive with enchanting light displays, and horse drawn carriages roll through the streets. Santa and holiday characters roam the streets every Saturday spreading cheer. Local bands play upbeat tunes that encourage spontaneous dancing and merriment.
Throughout the month of December, various events take place all over town. Special offerings include Black Friday on November 28, Small Business Saturday on November 29, and Girls Day Out on December 13. From Carnegie Hall and movies at The Lewis Theatre to Greenbrier Valley Theatre and exhibits at the Visitors Center, there’s holiday fun for everyone to enjoy. The downtown area becomes a vibrant hub of joy, where the spirit of the holidays is celebrated in every corner, creating lasting memories for all who join in the festivities.
