Guests will enjoy an evening highlighting Appalachian culture and community, with performances by regional string musicians, vegetarian cuisine, and traditional dance. The event will serve both as a celebration of the Yew Mountain Center’s ongoing work and as a key step in raising funds to secure local ownership of the land.

The event brings people together in the spirit of Appalachian heritage while supporting a cause that affects the future of conservation, education, and community well-being in our region,” said Erica Marks, director of the Yew Mountain Center. “We are grateful to Appalachian Headwaters for offering the use of Wood Thrush park for our campaign kickoff event and look forward to seeing new friends at the Yew.

Proceeds from the event will go directly toward the Yew Mountain Center’s land purchase campaign, which aims to permanently protect 500 acres of biodiverse forest and ensure the continuation of its educational, ecological, and cultural programming for the local community.

Community members who are unable to attend the event in person are encouraged to contribute through the organization’s website at yewmountain.org/support.
