The Greenbrier Valley's #1 Source for Food, Music, Shopping, Theatre, and Events!

From the Editor

November is here, and as the crisp days of late autumn settle in, it’s the perfect time to reflect on what we’re thankful for. There’s plenty to celebrate right here in our local scene, and this month offers countless ways to dive into holiday cheer and experience what makes this region so special.

Ross Hanna and his wife, Cyndi, have returned to the area and opened Artistic Alchemy, a paint-and-sip studio promising lots of creativity, connection, and fun. Discover all the excitement at Artistic Alchemy and see how you can join the festivities.

One thing I have noticed as I meet new friends and reconnect with familiar faces is how rich we are in local talent. People here are genuinely gifted in the arts and crafts they pursue. One shining example is Lewisburg photographer Evan Blumenstein. His work, on display at the Alderson Artisans Gallery, is simply exquisite. Explore his story and travels, and you will understand why his photography captivates so many.

November is a time to give thanks, and in Lindside, the Veterans Day Parade brings that gratitude to life, celebrating our veterans with heart, pride, and hometown charm. Following the parade, JROTC students from James Monroe High School and Greenbrier East High School lead moving presentations honoring all who have served.

For readers who love a good story, don’t miss West Virginia author R.S. Gunn’s interactive tale Legends Lurk Here: Wild & Wonderful. Theatre fans can enjoy Greenbrier Valley Theatre’s production of Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley, a charming sequel to Pride and Prejudice that follows the Bennet sisters as they reunite at Pemberley for the holidays. And for a festive treat, Carnegie Hall offers a fresh spin on the holiday classic A Christmas Carol.

As always, live music, great eats, and festive gatherings abound. Inside this issue, The Agenda guides you through local happenings, from lively concerts and bustling markets to family-friendly celebrations, along with spotlights on moments and people that capture the spirit of our towns.

I try to practice gratitude every day, but November is the perfect time to say it out loud. Thank you to our readers, to everyone who has shared their stories, to the local businesses, organizations, and individuals who support our work and the places we call home, and to all who make our communities so remarkable. You make the Greenbrier Valley and beyond an extraordinary place to live, gather, and celebrate.

Wishing you a November filled with warmth, friendship, and the many things that make this season so special,

Lisa
