Karen Cohen presents PHANTASM, a photoart exhibit defined as a figment of the imagination; an illusion or apparition. Her images, which she calls photoart, offer a visual journey that twists and bends reality. All are invited to the reception’s meet and greet on Friday, September 1, from 4 to 8 p.m.
Cohen works with digital photography, using software as the brush to transform work into mythical, magical visions. “My altered photographs are apparitions created in the pulsing corners of my imagination; being a child of the 60’s, color constantly dominates my images,” Cohen explained.
A graduate of Germain School of Photography in NYC and certified as a professional photographer, she freelanced as a rock and roll photojournalist during the 80’s. Her work has been published in Rock Scenes and Trouser Press magazines along with her regular feature in New Jersey’s Aquarian Weekly magazine called Starry, Starry Nights.
This exhibit will run from Sept. 1 through Sept. 30 at the Greenbrier Visitors Cente in Lewisburg.
