Make Valentine’s night special with dinner and dessert specials and a cello/violin performance by Paolo and Erika Marks. Paolo began his musical studies on cello at the age of six and as cellist in the Marks Family String Quartet and member and soloist with the Loudoun Symphony Orchestra, he was from an early age well acquainted with the family of stringed instruments.

Paolo was born into an environment where music was an integral part of life. His father, then a violist with the Vancouver Symphony, set an example for his five sons, now all professional musicians. Paolo began his musical studies on cello at the age of six and as cellist in the Marks Family String Quartet and member and soloist with the Loudoun Symphony Orchestra, he was from an early age well acquainted with the family of stringed instruments.

Paolo makes violins at his Pocahontas County shop, Mount Gilead Violin Works. He focuses on building his own instruments and offering professional repair work to musicians in the area.
