Saturday, Aug 2: Reggae Sunfest in Hillsboro!

Mark your calendars, Pocahontas County will soon be celebrating one of the Caribbean’s most popular exports , music. Reggae Sunfest will take place on Saturday, Aug. 2, at the Pretty Penny Café in Hillsboro, WV. The festival will feature headliner Shawn Owen Band, along with Lazy Man Dub, and I-Vibes Original, and Domino Sound DJ’s Prince Pauper & Indian Roast Fish.

Like years past, the menu will include authentic Caribbean food AND it will be priced inexpensive so come hungry. Foods include: Jerk pork, chimichurri steak, curry chicken, rice and peas, and Jamaican patty.

Families are encouraged to join the fun as there will be a moon bounce and various entertainment for kids.

This event start at 1pm and admission is only $10. Kids 12 and under are free.

If you’de like to eat at the Pretty Penny sometime, their summer hours are:
Wed-Thurs 11-8
Friday-Saturday 8-10
Sunday 8-6
Monday 11-8
Closed Tuesday.

They work hard to serve locally grown cuisine and breakfast is served Friday through Sunday. Also, everything on the menu is named after family members so feel free to inquire while you’re there. On Friday nights, the cafe hosts a jam session (see LBSPY Agenda).
