Red Audio @ The Sweet Shoppe, Sept 15th

On July 13th, a rock band that “plays anywhere once” came to Lewisburg’s Sweet Shoppe for the first time. The night crowd started light but by around midnight had the bartenders running.

The band’s name is Red Audio and they sound like a British garage band that incorporates electronic and rock. The crowd was dancing non-stop until the show ended. When the show finally did end, after a few requested encores, people wondered when they would come back. If you’re wondering too, the answer is September 15th at the Sweet Shoppe.

“I was impressed. Super to see a hard rocking local band playing tight, with heart, and writing good songs. Talented, nice chaps,” –Dan Lively (of ExeuduS, Sweet Cicada & Rootz Rock)

They perform songs from every decade since the 1960’s. You can pick up a demo cd for just $3 at any of their live shows. Some original songs include: Plasticland, Moneytree, Robotomy, Radio Blah Blah, and our personal favorite, Girls from Outer Space. The band also plays cover songs from some of the most difficult songs by Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, AC/DC, The Strokes, Nirvana, The White Stripes, and more.

The band is comprised of 3 members. Jett Bailes is lead singer and plays guitar. Jeremy Morriston sings, plays bass, and keyboard. Scott Hinkle is the drummer, also sings, and is the sound engineer.

“Scott holds down a solid, power grooves while Jeremy fills out the fuzzy low-end bass and elaborates with a Korg synthesizer, utilizing various complicated tones, blips, and weird noises. To finish it off, Jett lays down punchy melodies with blistering guitar rock and soul riffs and pitch shifting solos, while pouring burning emotion into senseless catchy lyrics,” – Red Audio.
