Montclaire String Quartet, April 26th

On Friday, April 26th, the Montclaire String Quartet will perform at Carnegie Hall in Lewisburg, at 7:30pm. This quartet is celebrating its 23rd year as a quartet-in-residence for the West Virginia Symphony. The quartet consists of violinist and concertmaster, Amelia Chan ; viola player, Bernard Di Gregorio ; cellist, Andrea Di Gregorio ; and violinist, Anton Shelepov.

Carnegie Hall is delighted to be presenting this public performance of the Montclaire String Quartet. They will have just completed eight performances for Greenbrier County students in grades K-5, and we hope the adult members of our community will enjoy the show as much as the children. – Lynn Creamer, Carnegie Hall’s Artistic Director.

Previous shows have featured a diverse collection of these short classics: Felix Mendelssohn’s Capriccio in D minor No. 3; Theodor Kirchner’s “Nur Tropfen;” Frank Bridge’s “Sally in the Valley” and Sir Roger de Coverley “A Christmas Dance;” Turina’s La Oracion Del Torero; and Tchaikovsky’s Early Pieces for String Quartet. Besides classical, they perform different styles of music including bluegrass and rock ‘n’ roll, to show them the universal use of instruments and the universal purpose of music.”
