Offbeat: Defenders of the Homefront by Michelle Evans

The Little Levels Heritage Fair, held annually in Hillsboro, WV, was created based on an old photograph of the Pocahontas County Horse Show in 1915. This year’s festivities will be at the Pearl S. Buck Birthplace and is called, “Defenders of the Home Front.” The celebration is in commemoration of the Sesquicentennial of WV Statehood and the Civil War Battle of Droop Mountain. There will be traditional music, a grand parade, croquet, arts and crafts, living history, and an old fashioned pig roast. This fair lasts over three days, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, June 28th, 29th, and 30th and is chock full of incredible events. We suggest you go to them all!
